Little purple dendrobium orchids - Houseplants

The purple dendrobium orchid is the queen of indoor plants that captivates and delights the eye with the splendor of its colors and petals. Size: about 35 cm Care and cultivation: Dendrobium needs strong light; the soil in the pot must be allowed to dry a little between waterings, when the orchid is not in flower. The plant prefers well-ventilated compost, made either of fern or tree fibers, or based on tree bark and peat. Regardless of the compost used, it must be airy, light and not compact around the roots. Dendrobium orchid roots do not tolerate wet soil, soaked with water; this situation inevitably leads to rotting of the roots. Occasional sprinkling of the foliage with water helps maintain humidity, especially on hot days. Orchids support temperatures of 7-35 degrees Celsius, the ideal being between 16-30 degrees Celsius. Changing the orchid pot is done once every two years, in the spring, after it has bloomed, or when it starts to give new shoots (when it comes out of the rest period). *The bowl in the image is for presentation.
